About us

The Warsaw (Mateusz) - Krakow (Natalia) duo, raised in big cities, once decided to "drop it all and move to the countryside".

They both spent their childhood in stables and horse camps, where they cleaned stables, got bitten by gophers, and rode horses. In addition to horses, they share a passion for permaculture, architecture (for the so-called “post-German” especially) , nature and a love of animals and tea ☕

A few words about the hosts

Mateusz

is a man of mountains and rocks, a climber, mountaineer with a weakness for railroads and ships of all kinds. A early type of person, always on the move, addicted from the books, a lover of history of any kind – Polish, the Worldwilde, newer and older. If you would like to learn more about the history of the Drawskie Lake District, this is a good address. He also loves to take care of our permaculture vegetable garden (we are both just taking our 1st steps). Professional market stall assembler.

Natalia

is a real water lover. In her childhood, in addition to horse camps, she spent her vacations canoeing – in the Drawskie Lake District, of course. No one remembers when she learned to swim, so that’s why she really wanted to live on a lake. A creative individual, she is passionate about printing and photo books, which she design from time to time – she plans to make her own photo darkroom in an old stable in the Labedzie. A photographer by profession, she is a horse physiotherapist and shoeing (yes, a female farrier)

and another important resident – a male cat Koszmar

Born in Warsaw’s Grochow district, it is not known exactly when or if he has siblings. Natalia found him coming home from work one November’s evening. He owes his name to his not very attractive appearance at the time of the 1st meeting. A terrific cuddler, he enjoys daytime naps and nighttime walks, towards strangers he is timid. He gets along well with other animals, he is not aggressive.
