Somewhere between Pila and Koszalin...

on the map of Poland you will find a land of post-glacial lakes, rivers, meadows and forests - the average forest cover of the Drawskie Lakediscrit municipalities is about 44% and is much higher than the national average. The area is home to roe deer, deer, lynx, wolves and cranes - which sometimes wake Us up.

The lakes are smaller than the Mazurian ones – you can only sail on a few bodies of water, but there are a lot of them. The roads are winding, planted with old trees, and sometimes even covered with cobblestones from the time when these lands belonged to Germany – they were annexed to Poland after World War II.

The entire Zachodniopomorskie region is the 2nd least populated in Poland, which is a tourist advantage. Apart from the Baltic coast, you don’t often see tourists here.

About place

Our area is full of canoe and bicycle routes – 400m from the habitat passes a bicycle trail. Hikers, anglers and, of course, mushroom pickers will also be satisfied. The main amusements we offer in Labedzie 100 are: listening to the clanging of cranes, observing wild animals, walking in the meadows (I recommend lying on them) and forests, collecting herbs and mushrooms, swimming in the lake (it is about half mile to Lake Przytonko from the habitat via a forest track), watching sunrises and sunsets – Mateusz says he has only seen sunsets as beautiful in the mountains. Ideal conditions for reading the backlog of books.

The habitat consists of Our house, 3 outbuildings and the Gardener’s Cottage – where you will live. For guests we have a parking lot that can easily accommodate a bus.

The house and buildings are still under renovation – so we apologize in advance for any under-performance associated with this.

The buildings date from the beginning of the XX century – we do not know exactly when they were built, on the old stable there is a date of 1919.

From the very beginning we knew that we wanted to live in an old house – such a love of antiques and 2nd hand things…. Mainly with our own efforts, one by one, we restore the buildings to their former glory, giving them new functions and making improvements. The Gardener’s House is the 1st one that we have finished in full. Keep in mind that the house you are staying in has passed its time – we know from neighbors that there was a bread oven in it just after WWII, unfortunately the previous owners demolished it, then it was used as a wood shed. It has been expanded and renovated a little by Us, but it is an old building that needs to be treated with delicacy. The whole habitat is connected to a domestic sewage treatment plant – with which there are certain rules of use. We also have a circuit of so-called “gray water” – that is, water from the treatment plant, which is not suitable for drinking, is used for flushing toilets and watering the garden – that is, the water in the toilet may sometimes have a slightly different color, or be cloudy

And why the Gardener’s House?

When the 1st time my parents visited the place my mother, who is an avid gardener, stated that it was the perfect building for the use of a Gardener – so it was named the Gardener’s House.

Labedzie is situated in the northwestern edge of the Drawskie Lake District on the route of road 162 between Drawsko Pomorskie and Swidwin. Our habitat is located in the so-called Colony. To reach us in the village you need to turn to Karsibór (turn almost opposite the store) into the paved road. Then you have to turn right and go straight all the way until you reach the bus stop and the cross standing right at the beginning of Karsibor (you will pass the sign informing you that you have left Labedzie). Then you have to turn right again – already into a dirt road. Then drive along it until you see a red brick house on the right just off the road. Immediately after this house enter the field to the right, this road leads to our yard. Do not worry about yours car  suspension, the road is regularly mowed, paved and cleaned.

And yes, Labedzie in English means Swans 😉
